چکیده

Objective — to establish the features of iron homeostasis in patients with steatohepatitis alcoholic and nonalcoholic etiology depending on presence dysmetobolic overload syndrome, identify probable link between ferrokinetics markers biochemical syndromes steatohepatitis, intensity endotoxicosis fibrosing reactions.
Materials methods. The study was based clinical follow‑up 125 individuals, including 60 65 25 practically healthy individuals appropriate age gender. Depending indicators homeostasis, examined were divided into 4 groups: dysmetabolic syndrome 40 patients, without syndrome; 18 non‑alcoholic 42 syndrome.
Results. In activation collagen anabolism processes observed through growth protein‑bound oxyproline blood 2.5 times (p < 0.05), absence 2.0 as well a significant increase catabolism by increasing content free blood, respectively 1.5 1.3 which occurred due collagenolytic activity plasma (respectively 1.6 1.4 times; p 0.05) intergroup difference all cases. There hexosamines blood: its sialic acids, accelerated degradation fucoglycoprotein components extracellular matrix. synthesis an established slight breakdown 1.2 0.05). also fucoglycoproteins.
Conclusions. regularities liver fibrosis progression are inextricably linked anabolism, catabolism, plasma. An important consequence cytolysis inflammation is blood. there synthesis, characteristic hexosamines,

[Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis].

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) are the hepatic manifestations of the metabolic syndrome. Since the prevalence of obesity and consequently of the metabolic syndrome is steadily increasing, the different types of NAFLD are nowadays the most common cause of liver injury in North America. The development of NASH and fatty liver cirrhosis occurs af...

Dysmetabolic iron overload syndrome.

Over the last few years the genetic basis of Gilbert’s syndrome has been clarified. This issue of the journal contains four papers on this condition. One paper describes a novel molecular mechanism responsible for decreased bilirubin-UDP-glucuronosyltransferase activity, while two articles evaluate the interaction between Gilbert’s syndrome and hematologic disorders associated with increase bil...

Guidelines for liver transplantation for patients with non-alcoholic steatohepatitis.

GUIDELINE DEVELOPMENT Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is an increasing cause of liver disease necessitating liver transplantation. In patients with advanced NASH, there are often coexistent clinical issues that impact on the outcome of liver transplantation. There are no guidelines for the assessment and management of patients with NASH undergoing liver transplantation. A group was therefo...

Meta-analysis: pioglitazone improves liver histology and fibrosis in patients with non-alcoholic steatohepatitis.

BACKGROUND Thiazolidinediones (TZDs) have been used in the treatment of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). However, the magnitude of treatment response associated with TZDs in improving liver histology in NASH has not been quantified systematically. AIM To conduct a meta-analysis of randomised, placebo-controlled clinical trials (RPCTs) using pioglitazone and rosiglitazone in the treatment...

Circulating Levels of Pro-inflammatory Cytokines in Patients with Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease and Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis

Background: Pro-inflammatory cytokines are associated with systemic inflammatory responses. Objective: To investigate the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-1b, IL-6, and TNF-a) in patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver (NAFL) and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) compared to healthy individuals. Methods: This case-control study was c...
